The 'Short Histories' presented here are a useful first reference point for those interested in the history of some of the great names of the piano world. These piano-pioneers, dedicated themselves to producing the very best pianos possible - thus demonstrating how talent, technical understanding and sheer determination will overcome whatever obstacles are blocking the way to success.

Some of the big names of the piano industry, as successful business go, are among the most globally recognised brands. An enviable position for any business! The bigger the brand, the better the reputation and build quality, and hopefully, the better the piano. At least, that is what we have all come to expect!

Among the lesser-known makes, it is difficult to gather much detail about their histories. While looking to give as much factual information to justify a posting, I try to add some narrative to the story so as to avoid postings being little more than raw data.
